Thaliyah Cools-Lartigue
Thaliyah Cools-Lartigue is a professional dancer and choreographer from Dayton, OH.
She holds a BFA in Dance from the Ohio State University and extensive training in Contemporary/Modern, Hip Hop, Ballet, African, and Jazz. Thaliyah has also had the pleasure of training with Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre in Chicago, IL, KAOS Hip Hop Workshop in Nashville, TN, Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M., and Tia Rivera’s BTB Bootcamp both located in Los Angeles, CA.
Thaliyah was a former Jeraldyne Blunden Fellow with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) (2022-2024) and a Dayton Dance Initiative Company member (2023-2024). During her time with DCDC, she had the pleasure of performing works by Paul Taylor, Rennie Harris, Talley Beatty and many other dance pioneers. Thaliyah has performed in many cities spanning the U.S. including NYC, Pittsburgh, Chicago,Philadelphia and internationally in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She was named a recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award for choreography in 2024 and has choreographed works on Ohio State's 3D Dance Team, Onyx Contemporary Dance Company, Fort Hayes Metropolitan High School’s Dance Ensemble and FunkLab Dance Center. Thaliyah teaches Contemporary/Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz and Technique at Miami Valley Dance Center, Modern Elements Dance Studio and Terre's Dance Workshop while also offering private lessons. She is currently a freelance dance artist but continues to audition and train at the professional level.
