Malorie Mummert
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Malorie began dancing at the age of 3. She studied many forms of dance, including, jazz, ballet/pointe, Irish, contemporary, musical theatre, modern, hip hop, and, thanks to her studies with Savion Glover, tap. In her high school years, she became an United Spirit Association (USA) Allstar in Songleading, an Award winning cheerleading coach, Musical Theatre choreographer for local theater organizations, title winner at national dance competitions and performed with 98 Degrees at the 2001 NFL ProBowl in Hawaii. Continuing her studies at College, Malorie became Captain of the California State University, Northridge Dance Team, and was soon signed as a professional dancer for the San Fernando Valley Quakes (MLS) and the Maywood Buzz (ABA). While going to school and dancing professionally, Malorie kept a strong connection to her community by volunteering and teaching at local YMCA's and LAUSD Elementary schools. After obtaining her B.A., Malorie continued to study dance at the Millenium Dance Complex and at the Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA. This led to dancing in various commercials, movies and tv shows such as Showtime’s Award winning show “Shameless”, and a 3 year contract to dance for Miss Patti LaBelle. After that contract, Malorie moved into choreography, and began setting pieces for local colleges in Southern California and became a reoccuring choreographer for AEG/Nike’s 3 on 3 Basketball Game at L.A. Live. Simultaneously, starting what is now known as, California Conservatory of Performing Arts (IG: CaConservatory). Her students and pieces consistently place in the top 10% and achieve special entertainment awards for their performance quality. This caught the eye of Margie Duncan, the director of Debbie Reynolds Dance Studios, and invited Malorie to move into the studio. Currently, Malorie is a member of Dance Masters of America, the Zumba Instructors Network, owns California Conservatory of Performing Arts and is the new Head Coach for the Dance Team at the largest independent charter school in the Nation, Granada Hills Charter High School.
