Laura Decheine

Laura Decheine is the owner and artistic director of Helmer Dance Studio in Hudson WI and has been a dance instructor in the greater Minneapolis area for over 35 years. Laura's studio has been honored with many prestigious awards throughout the past 40 years and she is so grateful to be a part of such an amazing dance community. Laura is also a member of the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association and has trained and choreographed with many renowned choreographers across the country. She has trained and is knowledgeable in many dance styles including Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop, Acrobatics and Musical Theater and is constantly furthering her dance education by attending in-person and virtual classes and workshops. Laura studied dance and theater at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and specializes in Musical Theater and Tap choreography. Amateur and professional theater choreography credits include: West Side Story, Grease, South Pacific, Les Miserables, Matilda, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, Wizard of Oz, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Chicago, Newsies, 1940s Radio Hour, Fiddler on the Roof and Gypsy. Laura is certified in Acrobatic Arts™ in levels Primary to Pre-Professional and is a member of the Discover Dance Experience for Early Childhood Dance Education™. She is also certified in Progressing Ballet Technique.
