Carlos Talavera

Carlos is an esteemed dance competition adjudicator with a wealth of experience and expertise in the field. He is affiliated with a brand-new company that has opened in Miami, Florida – Legacy Productions Miami which is a training facility/competitive team that is building young artists and dancers in the Miami dance industry. From 2017 – 2023, he was the company director & choreographer of Miami Dance Company where he also grew up dancing.

Carlos's passion for dance began at a young age when he received exceptional training in ballet and tap. During his high school years, he honed his skills even further as a member of the esteemed Coral Reef Cudettes dance team, as well as by participating in the musical theatre program.

After high school, Carlos pursued his studies in business at Florida International University while continuing to pursue his love for dance. For the past eight years, he has worked with children & provided them with a strong technical facility in dance & has won numerous of awards for his choreography & for his trained dancers. Throughout his career, Carlos has had the privilege of choreographing for numerous magnet art programs and school dance teams across Miami-Dade County, showcasing his talent and creativity.

In addition to his work within the local dance community, Carlos has collaborated with esteemed choreographers and directors on popular TV shows such as "Burn Notice" and "Law & Order". He has also taken on the role of lead choreographer in various musical productions including "Mary Poppins", "Spamalot", and "The Little Mermaid", to name a few. Carlos's choreography has garnered him numerous national awards and acclaim, solidifying his reputation as a masterful creator and developer of technically proficient and artistically expressive dancers.

His vast experience, combined with his passion for the art form, ensures that he brings a unique perspective and a discerning eye to every competition he judges.
