Tiffany Schlater

Tiffany Schlater has had extensive training in many genres of dance. She has won many Competitive Titles, was nominated as a Who’s Who of American High School Students and at the age of 17 received a full jazz scholarship to the prestigious Gus Giordano Dance Center in Chicago, Illinois. She has performed at the Capital Building in Washington D.C., the Chicago Theater, in the promotional tour for the movie “TAP”, various industrials, charity events and on television. Tiffany has performed with Giordano Dance Chicago, Savion Glover, the late Gregory Hines and was an original member of the Especially Tap Chicago (ETC) Tap Company. She has studied under such greats as Gus Giordano, Debbie Allen, Henry LeTang, Jason Samuels Smith, Ayodele Casel, Mia Michaels & Michelle Dorrance to name a few.

While teaching and choreographing, she has captured many top awards including the titles Teacher Of The Year and Elite Top Choreographer Of The Year on a National Elite Level. Her choreography has been featured at New York City, Tap Extravaganza, KAR & Rainbow National Showcase opening numbers Las Vegas and top 5 at the Industry Dance Awards Las Vegas/Hollywood several times. She has been recognized by the Stanford Who’s Who Of America, Ohio House of Representatives and is a member of the International Tap Association. She has taught on many tap festival and dance convention circuits including KAR Convention for 11 years. Her students can be found on television, Broadway, Radio City, movies and professional dance companies.

Currently Tiffany proudly serves as an Ambassador for the Tap Legacy Foundation NYC, a Certified Lead Adjudicator for KAR, Rainbow, Ultra, KAR LIVE, Applause and Dance Masters of America Regional & National Convention. Most rescently Tiffany completed the 6 week 6 city KAR Australia Dance Tour 2023 where she served as both judge and teacher ands she continues to travel as a Master Teacher and Choreographer. Since joining the JDSD faculty, in 1998, she has created the Elite Program, is the Elite Company Director, Faculty Liaison, competition choreographer and teacher. Tiffany is committed to sharing her love of dance through mentoring, educating and teaching proper technique around the world. Her vast experience and knowledge is an asset to the judges table and provides expert feedback for all competitors.
